What are Peripheral Devices? Explanation and use of devices.

The external devices connected to the computer are called peripheral devices. These devices are used for specific purposes. 
Some of the peripheral devices are as follows:
1.) Input Devices
2.) Out Devices 
3.) Other Devices

Input Devices

The computer needs instruction by the user. In order to instruct the computer we need external devices which helps it to process. All the devices which help user to give instruction to the computer are called input devices/peripherals. 
Following are some of the examples:
1.) Keyboard
2.) Mouse
3.) Light Pen
4.) Optical/Magnetic Scanner
5.) Touch Screen
6.) Microphone for voice as input
7.) Track Ball

Keyboard:

The keyboard is a common type of input device. Different types of keyboards are available, but they resemble each other by simple variations. The standard keyboard consists of 104 keys. It consist of alphabets, numeric and cursor keys. Cursor control keys are duplicated in order to allow easier use of the numeric keypad. 

Mouse :

The mouse is an important device in the windows computer system. It is electro-mechanical, handheld device. It performs like moving icons, starting programs, selecting menu commands/items, re-sizing windows and choosing options. Older version of mouse uses magnetically coated rolling ball in order to track movement on the flat surface. New technology has completely changed the weight and accuracy of the mouse. The modern mouse uses a laser beam to track movements on the flat surface. A mouse is used to replace hard to remember key combination whit easier point and click actions. The mouse can’t type alphabets and numbers, but it is used with a keyboard.

Light Pen:

A device by which you can input data into the computer by tapping or writing on the screen is called light pen. This device uses a light sensitive detector to select objects on the screen. You can directly point objects on the screen and select them. If you use paint programs this device is best for you to draw pictures.

Optical Scanner:

The devices which are used to input data into the computer are called scanners. These devices completely eliminate the manual input of data. For example bar code reader is a just different kind of image scanner. An image scanner converts images into the electric format which can be processed and saved in the computer's memory. Another example of a scanner is the OCR, this device scans printed copies of text images  and converts them into editable text.

Touch Screen:

The device which directly accepts input through the display screen is called input devices. You can input alphabets, numbers, mouse click and movements from the same panel. Touch screen input is mostly used in mobile devices like tablets, smart phones and other similar devices.

Microphone:
The device which accepts an audio signal as an input data is called a microphone. These devices are widely used for voice chat and online conference calls. Generally there are two types of microphone available:
1.) Desktop Microphone

2.) Hand held Microphone


Track Ball

The trackball is a device which is same as a mouse. Only the difference between them is that we move the whole mouse body move the cursor and trackball sits in one place and we need to move a ball by our thumb to move the cursor. A track ball contains one or three buttons and a ball.
The advantage of a trackball over mouse is it needs less space and place it on any kind of place as you need.


What is Computer? Basic Explanation and Definition

What is Computer?
Computer is a machine which converts data in to use full information. Data is a part of information. Data can be anything like numbers of cars in the city with different number plates. It can be age, sex, name weight, height, parts of a group of people.

We can also define the computer in terms of its functions. Following are the special functions of the computer
1.) Accept Data
2.) Store Data
3.) Process Data as Desired
4.) Process Data as Required
5.) Print The result in desired format.
 
Structure of the computer

The Basic Block Diagram of the computer is shown Below :


The  computer performs five major operations
1.) It accepts data and instructions by the means of input devices,
2.) It stores data and information
3.) It processes the data according to the users instruction
4.) It provides the results in the form of output
5.) It controls all the operations inside it

Each block of the computer is explained below.

1.) Input
The process of giving or entering data or instruction to the computer is called input. The process of inputting raw data to the computer in order to process is called input.
2.) Control Unit
Control unit is the most important part of the computer. All the operations like input, output and processing is controlled by this part. It decides when to stop and start reeving data. It also decides when and where to store the data. It controls step by step operations inside the computer.
3.) Arithmetic Logic Unit
All the logical operations are performed by this unit. The mathematical operations like subtraction, addition, multiplication, division, logic and comparison all are performed by this unit.

The Arthematic Logic Unit and Control Unit of a computer system is collectively known as Central Processing Unit (CPU). CPU is also called the brain of the computer.

How To Make Facebook Account | Step by Step Instruction

Here is the step by step instruction on how to make facebook account. Facebook is the dad of the social network. Most of the people can't live with out facebook in today world. Facebook is fun and entertaining. If you can't find your friends in real world, just login to your facebook account then they are there the whole day and night. This is the world of internet, facebook makes very easy to find friends and make new friends.

I know its very easy how to make facebook account, but there might be some people who are just new to the internet and social networks. This is for those new people.

First open your browser(Internet Explorer, Mozila, Google Chrome etc) and type facebook.com on the address bar and hit enter. See the following Picture. I am using mozila for this guide.

After loading facbook on the browser you will get the following screen and type your details on the required fields.
On the above page type your first and last name on the top box.
Type your email address on the second and third box. You have to conform your email address to be sure if they are correct.
Now select you date of birth and gender and click on signup you will be redirected to another step/page.


In this step you will be given chance to find your friends, if you have contacts on your email address this is the simplest way to get your friends on facebook. Click on find friends button and you will be redirected to your email address page, thee you select all your friends and invite them. After finding finding friends with your email address you will be redirected to following page.

In this page will need to fill your basic information. Fill the name of your High School, College/University, your current employer, current city and hometown. That's it for this page click on save and continue and you will be redirected to the following page.
In this page facebook will automatically finds friends for you according to your basic information you provided. Click on add friend if you know them. Click on save and continue and you will be redirected to the following page.
In this page you will be given chance to choose your interests. See all the the subjects and click on like button what interests you. You can do this later too if you don't wan to like now you can skip this part. If you liked then click on save and continue. You will be redirected to the profile picture page.

 This page lets you to add your profile picture. If you have nice photo on your desktop click on upload a photo and select your picture and it will be uploaded and click on save and continue. After this your facbook account is completed. Now you have to conform you account in order to use facebook will send you email to conform your account. Just click on conform your account and you will be redirected to your facebook account. See the following image how it looks like facebook email in your inbox.
Now you are ready to use facebook. Make sure to ask facebook id of your friends and family. Add them and enjoy.
